The Property

This property will be music to the ears of those seeking prestige property within a couple of minutes to the CBD of Lismore. Its location is secret and magical, tucked down a long driveway just below the ridgeline with simply stunning views to the mountains over 10 parklike acres of gardens.

The Australian homestead has been exquisitely restored and extended now offering three bedrooms, formal living and dining rooms, music space, study, two bathrooms and a sunroom. Polished timber floors, spiral staircase, intricate fret work, pretty coloured glass windows, and an open fire place add to the country essence of the home.

There are wide verandahs for all seasons overlooking rainforest pockets, cottage gardens and meandering stream. The secluded valley is a haven for birds and tropical trees and flowers - a perfect home in a perfect location.

The Area

  • Lismore is not only one of the region's economic hubs, but a cultural centre too. A university town, Lismore has an incredibly diverse population and it, like the beautiful towns in the surrounding hinterland, offers residents an exceptionally rich lifestyle.
  • The Northern Rivers is sometimes called the 'Rainbow Region' and you can see that Lismore is its capital. Lismore really does have a diverse community and this is reflected in the local food scene. The towns and villages around Lismore are full of quirky cafes and restaurants, many of them serving food that's made from locally grown, organic produce.
  • Many people make Lismore the base for their exploration of the numerous national parks in the area. Some of the most spectacular bushland in NSW is protected in the nearby Nightcap and Border Ranges National Parks, which include world heritage listed rainforests.
  • With a population of about 45,000, you'd expect that Lismore would have good sporting facilities and excellent services for families, and it does.
  • Lismore has some beautiful period homes, especially in the town's centre. Built in the nineteenth century, many of Lismore's graceful weatherboard homes are elevated (a legacy of the days when flooding occurred; the riverbanks have since been reinforced to prevent future flooding). Often occupying big garden blocks, many of Lismore's older homes have been carefully renovated. Excellent homes, also on big blocks, can also be found further east in Goonellabah and Richmond Hill.
  • Lismore's original shopping district, The Block, is still home to a great range of shops including clothing boutiques, homeware stores, rare book dealers and organic food providers. These days Lismore is also home to the largest shopping centre in the Northern Rivers, Lismore Shopping Square. A community market is also held every week in one of the towns or villages around Lismore.
  • Lismore is on the Bruxner Highway which links Ballina, Alstonville and Casino. Ballina is 35 minutes away, Byron Bay 30 minutes away and the Gold Coast 70 minutes away. Lismore has its own airport with daily services to Sydney.
